HONDURAS
The Republic of Honduras is a country in Central America with coasts on the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south; one of its largest cities is San Pedro Sula, home to the most important industrial companies in the country, which is why it is also known as the industrial capital.
SAN PEDRO SULA
This city continues its advanced commercial development and services, not only business, but also medical. Its shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, banks, buildings for call centers and medical offices stand out in their infrastructure. San Pedro Sula also stands out for its sports and recreational facilities. All these points make it an attractive city not only for tourism, but also for business and sports.
TRANSPORTATION
Participants will have access to a courtesy transport service on arrival in and departure from San Pedro Sula, from Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport to the COPANTL Hotel conference venue and back, which will operate: From May 29 to June 3. For that reason, it is important for them to communicate their arrival and departure dates, airline, flight numbers and schedules in their Registration Forms or to send an e-mail containing that information to the attention of Marlene Zamora at, mzamora@alide.org

AIRPORT
Located in the heart of Valle de Sula, the most productive area in the country. The Ramon Villeda Morales Airport in San Pedro Sula is the largest in the northern zone and the most important in Honduras.
The current Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport is located 20 kms. from the city of San Pedro Sula, the most active industrial city in the country.
The legal currency in use in Honduras is the Lempira (L). United States dollars are acceptable throughout the country, but euros can only be used for transactions in banks. The exchange rate of the Lempira is pegged to the U.S. dollar at the rate of 1 USD = L.24.57.
Dollars and euros can be exchanged, to a lesser extent, in some shops (banks and hotels receive both currencies)
Comfortable lightweight clothing is recommended. The dress code during the ALIDE Meeting and social events is business casual.
Spanish and English will be the official languages of the Meeting. Simultaneous interpretation into those languages will be offered in the plenary sessions.

Credit cards
Visa, Master Card and American Express credit and debit cards can be used in many places, and there are ATM networks with extensive nationwide coverage.

Electricity
Honduras runs on 110 volt, 60Hz electricity. The country’s standard plugs are the A and B types. Please verify that your equipment complies with this energy, otherwise provide an adapter.

Climate
The average temperature in May and June is 25°C (77°F).

WiFi
The mobile operators available are Claro and Tigo, they have a 4.5G wireless network with a speed of approximately 60MB (depending on the coverage area), it can be contracted through a prepaid SIM card with values from $2.5 to $15 depending on the number of megabytes to hire.
